Learning produces changes in neuronal architecture, changes that result
from learned alterations in gene expression. Insofar as psychotherapy
resembles learning, it is also likely to produce anatomical changes. These
changes should be detectable by imaging methods and ultimately should yield
objective evaluations of outcome.
